When linking copies of Nintendogs to unlock new breeds, remember 2 things. You can only link with another Nintendo DS system once (and unlock a new breed). The breed unlocked corresponds with your partner's current pet, and it must be a breed that you do not have in order for it to be unlocked.

How to: Take your dog for a walk and make sure you have another accessory to change into. Try to go in as many "?" boxes as possible before you go to the park. As soon as you put the line into the park, go directly home. Go through your walk as normal, getting items, meeting dogs, etc., until you reach the park. Once you get to the park, go directly to "Accessories". Change your dogs accessories immediately, then tap "Back". The message "Saving: Don't Turn Off Power" should appear. There are five courses for each competition: beginners, open, expert, master, and championship.

Walking your dog more than once a day
How to: You can walk your dog once every 25 minutes. Wait 25 minutes with the game on, in sleep mode, or off before walking your dog. Also, it will not be very active during the day if it stays awake at night.

How to: Your dog can only learn a certain amount of tricks a day, while the same goes for competitions. To get additional chances at tricks and competitions, change the system date to to the previous day and set the time to 23:59. Exit the menu and turn off the DS. Immediately turn it back on and load the game. You will see the previous day and time shown. After one minute it will be an entire new day, allowing more tricks to be taught and competitions to be won. This can earn you more money if you win the competition. When you want to follow the normal order of things, just set the date and time back to the correct values.

Additionally, when teaching your dog to fetch, every time your dog brings back the item from tapping the screen, pet it until the sparkles appear. Now, take the item and throw it over again. After doing this awhile, your dog will bring back the item automatically, thus making the contests easier.

Sneeze	While your dog is sitting tap its nose. It will sneeze. This can be taught as a trick too.
Backflip	Tell your dog to sit. Now, tell your dog to jump. it should do a backflip. This can be taught.
Speak	Have a keyboard ( 5000 points) and tap the little trumpet symbol. Now tap the camera symbol until it reaches the right dog. hold the lowest note (the left side) your dog should bark (keep holding) then the lightbulb will appear. let go of the note and teach the trick.

Throw a toy. No matter if the dog catches it or not rub it on the head. Any time you pet your dog and sparkles appear you get trainer points. Do the same when the dog does a trick correctly.

Whistle & call its name, instead of pressing the round button to call your dog.
walks give you 100 trainer points . On the end of your walk go to a park. Put on new collar. It will save any items found. You can go on a walk again!

Before you go into a contest save. Then if you do poorly in a contest you can shut it off BEFORE the contest is over and you can restart it. Stupid easy!

Buy treats from the discount store and give them to the dog when it is good, does a trick, does good in a contest, finds good presents for you, and when it doesn't get into fights with other dogs.

How to: When a bone or light bulb appears when you are training your dog, use the stylus to drag it over its mouth and your dog will eat it. While interacting with your dog at home, if you give it enough love by petting and scratching it, a golden dog bone of light will appear. You can give it to your dog as a bonus treat.
