Cooking Tips -Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon

An important part of Rune Factory is cooking. Unfortunately, learning how to cook and increasing your skill can only be done through trial and error, which will waste an incredible amount of ingredients as you play. A great way around this, especially if you are failing due to insufficient skill, is to cook things that are not food. For instance, fry your sword, blend bronze and weeds, or bake your ax. You’ll fail, but you will get the non-ingredient item back after the failed experiment, and your cooking skill level will increase.

$$$ Money Exploit
Description: There is an way to make a lot of $$$ money and get some valuable, powerful items.
Required: Another DS with another copy of the game.

How to: Head to the shell on the beach to be able to connect the DS units, and trade items. When an item is traded, it will go up one level. So, you can trade items back and forth over and over again to easily increase the levels of the items, making them exponentially more valuable.

Friendship Glove
To acquire the Friendship Glove, head to Carmite Cave. Now, exit the cave, chat to Tabatha, and you will receive the glove from her.

Brush, Sheers & Basket
Need the Brush, Sheers, and a Basket? You’ll need a sheep which can is acquired at Toros Cave 1st off to get things rolling. After getting one, head into town the following day (not a holiday). Go to Neumann’s Shop and chat to Neumann for the Basket. Now go chat to Felicity. Felicity will compliment you on catching an animal and give you the Brush. Now head to Calum’s Shop. Chat to him and he will notice you’ve obtained an animal as well, and hand over the Sheers.

Empty Bottle Locations
1. First, head into Mist’s house, go to the cabinet within the house, and press A to find the 1st of 2 empty bottles.

2. Now, head to Jasper’s house and go into the basement. Search the boxes near the stairs, and you will find another empty bottle by pressing A. (You can also find a Wine Bottle in Jasper’s basement by searching the boxes on the far right side).

Extra $$$ Cash From Crops
Here is a tip to make more money off of your crops. You must have the Seed Maker item (which you can buy from Ivan) and at least one crop.
Simply place the crop into the Seed Maker to receive the seed from that crop. Then put them in your shipping box or sell them in town. This makes you more money because, for instance, while a single radish will sell for 60 gold, a radish seed fetches 100 gold. Unfortunately, this won’t work for all crops, so see which ones it will and won’t work for.

Crops that sell for more as seeds than crops are Radishes, Cucumbers, and Potatoes. Some that sell for less as seeds than the actual crop are Strawberries and Cabbage.

Free Doctor Checkup
Simply wait until a festival comes around. Now find Edward the doctor. Chat to him and he’ll offer a completely free checkup.

Mining $$$ Money
You can make over 200,000 gold with this trick in only one day! You will need access to the 2nd or 3rd cave. Now, you will need a good hammer, preferably lvl 3, but lower levels can work. Just mine away at the 2 caves for gems and valuable ores such as silver. In the 3rd cave for example, you can get a ruby worth a base price of 700 gold. But if the ruby was a level 19, the selling price of the ruby is multiplied by 19. That is 13,300 gold in one gem!
Lower level gems will fetch good prices too. In the 2nd cave you can get sapphires and silver, both worth a good amount per ore and gem. And after multiplying their base price by their level, you get tons of money! Have fun digging!

How to Win Egg Festival
First, buy a small egg from Neumann before the day of the Egg Festival. The festival is held on 23 Spring in your 1st year. Give the egg as an entry to Jasper at the Festival to win $5000 and an Empty Bottle. Although you do not have a Cockadoodle of your own at this point, the egg you buy will still win the contest. Be sure to have other monsters on your farm with 3 or 4 FP first or this trick will not work. If your monsters only have zero FP, you may not win the contest. Good Luck!

Easy $$$ Money
To make some quick $$$ and have at least 2,000 gold before attempting this tip.
First, purchase strawberry seeds from Jean (at least 2). Also, buy Greenifier from Edward. Plant the seeds in Carmite Cave in an easily accessible area, and use the Greenifier to level up the crops. When they ripen, you will have 2 level 2 strawberries.
Sell one and make seeds with the other. Use your profits from the ones you sold to buy more Greenifier. Within one season, you should have more than 20,000 gold from this alone if you regularly continue the process. Within a year, you should have enough money to get an upgraded house from Neumann.
If you want to supplement your earnings, take your fishing rod into the 2nd pool of water on the floor with the Chirori. This pool has Needlefish and Jamasquid, and they are both catchable without a rod upgrade and quite rare and worth some money.

To do this, you will need acsess to the 2nd cave (Toros), a monster hut, friendship glove, and a pair of shears. go past the first room (where you walk in) into one with snow. defeat the machine then destroy a rock right behind where the machine used to be. go through the opening. you will see a room with plowable land. look to the upper-right and there is a enteracnce to another room with snow. go through it. there will be a machine there. DON'T DESTROY IT! wait until a monster comes out. it is a wooly. you can befriend up to 4 of them with a level 1 monster hut. you can go home and shave them. a small wool is worth 200 gold. you can send them back and go back into the room for more. you can make easy money this way.

How to Avoid Tornadoes
Tornadoes are nasty! To avoid their devastation during the summer months just make sure to save your game each day before going to bed. Now, if a tornado does come, you can simply reset your game and try again.

Easy WiFi $$$ Money
This trick will not work unless you are connected via WiFi and have at least one friend registered on the game.
Simply have you and your friend take one item (the larger the price of the item the better) and keep sending it to one another over WiFi. Each time its sent, its value will increase by one gold piece, adding to the base sale value. The same method can be used to get really good weapons, since a cheap weapon will have its base value increased as well, making it more valuable. Try it!

Cancelling Item Use
Here is a good tip if you accidentally use an item that you didn’t want to use or you change your mind then the action can actually be cancelled. Simply head to the inventory menu before the action ends (whether it be eating, performing, whatever), and the item use will be cancelled.

Tip for Raising Friendship
During festivals and other events (not normal holidays that occur during the week), you can get your friendship level raised with those around you rather easily. The only condition is that you must have talked to that person prior to the festival or event. Simply go and find that person and chat to that person once to raise the friendship level you share with that character by a single point. You can do this with all available characters, but keep in mind you can only raise your friendship level one point per character per event.

Dungeon Exploration
Description: Cook up an item called UDON!
Requires: You need a kitchen, a pot, a cooking level of 14 or higher, and some flour.

With UDON you will not restore much HP, but you will restore a lot of RP. Whenever you need health in caves, use UDON and then go to the Cure/Medication spell. This will make the caves a lot easier.

Clear Field *Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon*

In order to keep your field clear from junk and debris, you must plow every square of crop land. While this may take a couple of in-game days because of HP and RP constraints, it is the only way to guarantee a clear field.

Friends With Emment
Want to become friends with Emment? If you do then try the following:
Head to Jasper's Manor and go up to the wall in front of the door.
Go down stairs and into the basement, and then head to the far end near the stairs.
There's an item there called a Roullabouti.
Take Roullabouti to Emment and he will become your friend.

Extra Bottle (Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon)
Whenever you get your mail and it tells you there is a treasure hunt the following day you can gain a bottle. Enter the park above town, and speak to the Mayor. He will give you a hint on where to find the the bottle. After you get it, give it to the Mayor. He will ask you what you want for your prize. You can get some gold or wood, or just keep the bottle!

First Day Money Farming [ Exploit ]
Collect all bamboo shoots on your field and then use the Mysterious Shell at the Beach to connect to another player's game either through a DS to DS or Wi-Fi connection. A bamboo shoot is worth 130g. Each time an item is traded to another player, it gains a level. A Level 10 Bamboo Shoot is worth 1300g. Bamboo shoots are good because they are the most valuable item you can obtain on your own field on 1 Spring, the 1st day of gameplay.

Now sell the upgraded item either at the Clinic or Pub and then buy the Small Kitchen and Small Fridge from Ivan for 1000g each on 1 Spring. Otherwise, you have to wait until 1 Summer to do this! This trick allows 2 players with no items and no money to make money on the very 1st day.

Clearing the Field
In order to clear your field without any in-game time elapsing, try the following. When 1st beginning the game, you will chat to sum1 named Mist and be asked to follow her to the farm. Enter the farm as requested, but do not chat to Mist again. Instead, clear your field and plow a 3x3 spot for some turnip seeds. Then chat to Mist. You will have plowed your field and prepared it without any in-game time elapsing.

Cave Mining & Farming Hint
3rd cave: Grab your watering can, hammer and sword. Head west in the 1st room, then go northeast in the second, and use your watering can to go through the fire wall in the room. Beyond it, you will reach a small cavern.
There's a generator that creates Beetles in the room. When you mine rocks here, you have twice the likelihood of getting a rare item like a Fire Crystal or Diamond. Many of them are high levels, and you can earn serious cash mining here in a single trip. It is also a great place to grow crops, because there is a pond in the cavern.

Basic Tools Locations
1. When you walk to the end of the pier, Sabrina will give you a Fishing Rod.
2. Bianca will give you an axe.
3. When you reach Lv 2 with your hoe, Rosetta will give you a Sickle.
4. Leo will give you a hammer when you plow 50 squares in Carmite Cave.

Tame monsters: You need to create a Monster Hut and get the Friendship Glove. Talk with Tabatha to get the Friendship Glove. To acquire the Friendship Glove, head to Carmite Cave. Now, exit the cave, chat to Tabatha, and you will receive the glove from her. Tammed Monsters will work on the farm and give you ranch products or fight with you as allies.
