Hint: Treasure room:
There is a switch in between two statues in the hedge
maze at Lara's house that will open a door to a treasure room.
To reach the switch, use the following steps from the start of
the hedge maze: Left, Right (when you reach an archway), Right,
Left, Left, Left, Right, Right, Left, Left, Right, Right, Left,
Right, Right, Left, Right, Left, Left, Left, Right. Enter the
hole to activate the switch. Pick up flares to use later inside
the treasure room. Since the switch is timed, quickly use the
following steps to reach the treasure room: Return to the hole's
entrance, then go Forward, Left, Left, Left, Right, Right, Left,
Left, Left, Right, Right, Straight, Right. Run into house. The
door is under the archway to the right when Lara first walks in
the house. Once inside, use the switch to permanently keep the
door open, then light a flare and explore. The treasure includes
items from Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: Unfinished Business
such as the green cat and various idols.
Hint: Leaving the mansion:
Get to the point on the training course before Lara
goes down the death slide. Walk to one of the corners at the edge
and face forward. Turn about forty-five degrees and look straight
down. While still holding the look button, jump straight up in
the air. After the third jump Lara should be on top of the left
or right pillar. From here, jump onto the wall, then run around
it. Then Lara can jump to the roof of the swimming pool, maze,
and even outside the patch of ground outside the gate. Note: If
Lara goes outside the gate, she can not return.
Hint: Defeating Bartoli:
When you reach the end of level 4 (Opera House), Bartoli
appears from your left. Take out your shotgun, jump over his head,
roll, fire, and repeat. If done enough times, he will die and
you will receive little or no damage. Note: Try not to go past
the first path to your right when you fall into the room to avoid
being attacked by a Doberman.
Hint: Defeating the dragon:
When the dragon is forming, go to the right-hand side
of the room. There should be three pools of water at this location.
Enter the middle pool and switch to the harpoons. Surface and
start shooting the dragon from above the water. That should drive
him behind a pillar in a position where he is stuck and can not
breath fire. Use the weapon of your choice and fire until he drops.
Then, pull the dagger and evacuate the building.
Hint: Bartoli's Hideout shortcut:
While going through this level, at one point you will
have to jump through a window and kill a man on a balcony. Once
you are at this point, kill the man and take the ammunition he
has. Then, turn around back towards the window you came through.
Walk to the corner of the balcony. Make sure you are in the corner,
then start pressing [Forward] + [Jump]. If done
correctly, you will jump over the fence to the roof of the building,
then slide into the water. This shortcut will save a lot of time
and health, but you will miss the Golden Dragon.

Level skip:
Perform the following actions: Press 1 to draw
Lara's pistols. Hold [Shift] and move to walk one step
back. Hold [Shift] and move to walk one step forward. Duck
until Lara is fully down, then stand. Spin in a full circle in
any direction three times, then jump forward.
All weapons:
Perform the following actions: Press 1 to draw
Lara's pistols. Hold [Shift] and move to walk one step
back. Hold [Shift] and move to walk one step forward. Duck
until Lara is fully down, then stand. Spin in a full circle in
any direction three times, then jump backwards.
Hint: Finding Lara's basement and race
course key:
Go to the Library. When Lara walks in the doorway,
there are two bookcases to the right. Approach the one on the
left and press Action. Lara will pull a book and the fire
will extinguish, allowing her to climb up the side wall inside
the fireplace. After reaching the top, follow the passageways
until reaching a room with two levels, with a lever on the top
level. Pull the block that is on the floor towards the lever.
When Lara pulls the switch, the basement door will temporarily
open. Quickly run through the attic, and down to the main hall
to reach the basement. Once in the basement, walk through to the
second room and look in the tank on the right side. Inside are
keys to the race course. To collect it, pull the block in the
other room to the center. Climbing up to that hall leads to the
tank. Then, proceed out of the attic. Do not go back down the
fireplace, as it has been re-lit.
Hint: Lara's museum:
Activate the switch on the back of the diving board
in Laura's pool room. Go to the door it opens in her lobby. Pull
the lever, and quickly roll. Sprint straight across her lobby
and roll into her museum, barely making it in time. The Dagger
of Xian among other artifacts are in her museum.
Hint: All Hallowed bonus level:
Complete the normal levels and unlock all the secrets.
The "All secrets" code may be used to do this instantly.
The "All Hallows" level will appear at the "Load
Game" screen. It is an extra London level.
Hint: View all FMV sequences:
Successfully complete the game. Go to the load game
screen to find a "Look in the story so far
" selection
at the bottom. Load that game and do not press any keys or buttons
to watch the FMV sequences.
Hint: High Security Compound: Killing MP
men:
When you are in the cell in the High Security Compound
level, jump backwards. The MP man will enter and try to punch
you. Run out and press the buttons on each side of you cell. These
will open the cells next to you, and the prisoners who are released
will attack the MP man. Sometimes only one will kill him, but
usually you need to open most of the cells since the MP man can
kill the prisoners.
Hint: India Jungle: Shortcut:
Slide down the track, jumping to grab the log and dispose
of the monkey. Jump off the log to the left to grab some shotgun
ammunition and a Large Medi Pack. Watch out for the boulder. Continue
down the slope and collect the save crystal. Just past the save
crystal, vault up onto the stone ledge. A sound will inform you
that you have found a secret area. Collect all three items in
the area and go towards the tree end. Walk as far on to the bushy
area as possible and face the mound that is in your way. Walk
carefully to the right hand side of the slightly highest square
of ground and face the downwards sloping mound. Save the game.
Release Walk, and take one big step back, then run and
jump. If done correctly, you will find yourself on top of the
ledge. Work your way forwards and jump the gap; it is smaller
than it appears. After awhile you may need to start crawling.
When you get to the end, drop down and you should land in front
of the gate at the end of the level. However, you need a key.
Turn to face the other ledge, at the top of some steps. As you
climb up to the top of this ledge, a tiger should appear where
you were. Kill it, then go to where the key should be without
the shortcut, at the other side of the big long rock. Get the
key, kill the monkey, and unlock the end gate.
Hint: Thames Wharf: Shortcut:
Go to the first catwalk. Run down it, roll, run back,
and jump the building. Head up the block and onto the building.
Walk forward, then jump from the ledge. Fill your health and save
the game. Turn right and run down the catwalk to the open area.
Roll and run. Make a 45 degree jump over the right gate when you
are to about two blocks from the building. If done correctly,
you will land on a sloped surface. Slide down into the barbed
wire. Refill your health and jump up onto the block. The level
will end.
Level skip:
Have Lara face exactly north. Enter the inventory screen
and look at the compass. If it is not transparent, try positioning
her again. Go to "Load Game", hold H + E
+ L + P, then release those keys. Close the inventory
screen to advance to the next level.
Unlimited items:
Have Lara face exactly north. Enter the inventory screen
and look at the compass. If it is not transparent, try positioning
her again. Go to the small medipak, hold G + U +
N + S, then release those keys.
All weapons:
Enable the "Unlimited items" code. Close
the inventory screen. Enter the inventory screen again. Go to
the large medipak, hold W + E + A + P
+ O + N + S, then release those keys. Note:
The code only affects the adult Lara.
Important objects from current level:
Have Lara face exactly north. Enter the inventory screen
and look at the compass. If it is not transparent, try positioning
her again. Go to the small medipak, hold B + I +
T + S, then release those keys. Important objects,
such as keys, for the current level will now be available.
Hint: Easy way to face exactly north:
Find any block that faces north. Climb up or jump to
it. Go to the inventory screen and your compass should be transparent
to confirm she is facing exactly north.
Hint: Turning on all the switches in the
Star Room in the Lost Library:
First, start at the switch across from the reset pad.
Face the reset pad and number each switch starting with the one
you are at as "1" and then going left, 2, 3, 4, up to
7. Then, activate the switches in the following order: 1, 3, 2,
7, 5, 4, 6.
Hint: Save health packs:
You can save health packs by going to a different level,
then coming back for health because the levels are so numerous
and close together.
Hint: Save explosive ammunition:
Save explosive ammunition (grenade launcher, Cross
Bolt, etc.) for tougher opponents when fighting the skeletons
by using the shot gun against them. Get the skeleton between you
and a ledge and blast it. The skeleton will fall off the ledge
and cease the exist. Since shot gun ammo is more prevalent in
the game than the explosive ammunition, this will allow you to
save it times when there are no ledges to help.
Hint: Level 1 golden skulls:
At the beginning, take a left up the small ledge.
In the room where you make your first jump, drop down into the water and go in the middle of the water.
In the room with the where you have to make two more jumps, fall down at the beginning. Run to the far end and turn to the right.
In the next room where you have to swim -- swim down to the bottom in the center of the room where the floor goes down slightly. Note: There is also a small and large medipack in a back room which is also under water.
In the area with the two boars, go around to the back and find the exit. Do not go in. Instead, turn right and go forward.
In the room where the skeleton has been impaled with the spikes, take a right when you enter.
In the crawl space, go to the left when you enter it.
When you get to the area just past the place where you have to "dive though the gap", go to the right and past the railing. Note: When Lara gets all eight golden skulls she will chose a different, harder path when Von Croy asks her where she wants to go.
Note: To take the easy route, the Path of the Virtuous, only seven skulls can be picked up when Von Croy opens the gate. Do not pick up the eighth skull until after he opens that gate and starts walking down. Then, go back, grab the skull, and take it easy.
Hint: Killing the red ninjas:
Shoot at them. When they start spinning their blades,
put up your gun, bring it out, and start shooting. When your gun
is put up, the ninja will begin to stop spinning his blade and
will not start spinning for a few moments. This gives you enough
time to blast him.
Hint: Killing knights:
To kill the knights found in The Lost Library, shoot
the blue gem in their chest. Do not attack from the back, as it
is just a waste of ammunitions. Six or seven direct hits with
the shotgun or the crossbow will kill them.
Hint: No damage from Horus:
Step into the blue light Horus was standing in before
you put the armor on him. He can keep attacking, but it will not
get through the light. Do not get behind it. If you do, his weapons
will still hurt you. You must be inside the blue light. This works
best when the "All weapons" code is enabled.
Hint: Underneath the Sphinx: Getting out:
You can sneak past the bulls without waking them or
worrying about locking them in their cages. First, make Lara face
north and enable the "Unlimited items" code: Open the
inventory screen and you should have all four keys you are supposed
to collect in the level. Go to the far right and walk slowly past
the cage and the pillar. Then, sidestep to the right until you
are almost in the right corridor. Then, go behind the bulls and
enter the stone tablets: right, left, middle. Sneak to the left
and go to the gate you opened. From there, cross the two pits
and place the keys in their correct locations. Go through the
gate you opened and head across the monkey swing. Grab the scriptures
and exit the level by the monkey swing. Remember to walk across
the empty room after the scripture room, as there are spike traps
located there.
Hint: Chambers Of Tulun: Avoiding damage:
In big room in the Chambers Of Tulun where the man
that makes shockwaves chases you, wait for a gold beetle to appear
then start running around. The beetle will grab you and you will
hover around. If you move too much, hit a wall, or get hit by
that man, the beetle will let go, slice up your neck, and you
will take damage.
Hint: Diving death:
Go to a ledge with a long drop and do the special dive.
Lara will land on her head and die.

Unlimited Large Medipacks:
Note: This code will only work when your health is
not full, and you have exactly one Large Medipack. Press [Esc]
to open the inventory screen. Highlight the Large Medipack, then
hold [Look] ([Keypad 0] by default) and press 9
on the top row of the keyboard. Then, use the Large Medipack once.
Exit and re-enter the inventory and you should have unlimited
Large Medipacks.
Unlimited Small Medipacks:
Note: This code will only work when your health is
not full, and you have exactly one Small Medipack. Press [Esc]
to open the inventory screen. Highlight the Small Medipack, then
hold [Look] ([Keypad 0] by default) and press 0
on the top row of the keyboard. Then, use the Small Medipack once.
Exit and re-enter the inventory and you should have unlimited
Small Medipacks.
Hint: Do a handstand:
To do a handstand when you climb an object, hold Walk
as you climb.
Hint: Do a somersault:
To do a somersault, crawl to the very edge of a platform
or ledge. While holding Crawl, press Jump. Lara
will somersault into the area below. This is better than having
to turn around and climb down while getting out of a tunnel. This
is also useful when getting into the water mill in the "Old
Mill" level.
Hint: Flip in the air:
Instead of jumping forward or backward and pressing
Roll immediately, press the opposite direction. For example,
if you jump forward, immediately press Down and Lara will
do a flip in the air. Do the opposite if you jump backwards.
Hint: Easy rolling:
To roll easily, instead of pressing [End] press
the [Up] + [Down].
Hint: Snap Lara's neck:
Do a somersault jump (Jump while pressing Walk
forward) from a high place. A good place to try this is in the
very first Streets of Rome level, when you are above the awning.
If you attempt to do a somersault jump from above onto the awning,
she will dive head first and snap her neck when she lands on the
awning, causing the game to end.
Flight mode:
Fly forward: Hold [Space].
Hover: Hold V while in-air.
Move forward: Hold [Cursor Up].
Move backwards: Hold [Cursor Down].
180 spin left: Hold [Numpad 7].
180 spin right: Hold [Numpad 9].
