Unlimited Master League players:
When you buy an edited player in Master League, you can delete him from the Option File. He will still be in your Master League team but will no longer take up space in your Option File. You can therefore create an unlimited amount of players for Master League, despite there being only 22 slots in the Option File.

Bikinis in free style swimming:
Highlight "100m Free Style" at the game select screen and press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, X. The swimmers will wear bikinis during the event.

Hidden gauges:
Choose the start option from the title screen. Enter any event and pause the game. Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Square + X + Triangle + Circle. Keep these buttons held and repeatedly press Up or Down to move the gauges off the screen.

Space shuttle:
In the Pole Vault, clear the qualifying height of 4.5 meters on the first attempt. On the second attempt, set the pole to 5.0 meters and clear it. A space shuttle will fly by when the pole is set again.

Tyrannosaurus Rex:
In the Shot Put, get a distance composed of all the same digits, such as "11.11" or "55.55". A Tyrannosaurus Rex will appear behind the crowd in the stadium.

UFO:
In the Javelin, tap Square or Circle button once and to begin jogging towards the foul line. When the angle meter appears, press and hold X to get it over 60 degrees.. When the meter rises begin pressing the Square or Circle button rapidly. Make sure you are running at a high speed and release the javelin before the foul line. The javelin must be thrown with the maximum power at an angle of more than 60 degrees. A UFO will fall into the stadium with the javelin protruding from it.

Birds:
In the Discus, get a distance that matches in meters and centimeters, such as "55.55" or "23.23". A flock of birds will appear above the stadium.

Mole:
In the Triple Jump or Long Jump, match the last three numbers of your distance, such as "13.33" or "19.99". A mole will appear from the location of your jump.

Balloon:
In the Hammer Throw, distance that matches in meters and centimeters, such as "1.01", "21.21", or "35.35". A balloon will appear from the crowd

Blimp:
In the High Jump, qualify in the first attempt. On the second attempt, adjust the bar more than 40cm and clear it. During the third jump, a blimp will appear.

Cat:
100m Dash
Tap Square and/or Circle buttons as rapidly as possible. Press X to lean forward at the finish line.

Alternate athletes:
Press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, X at the event selection screen. A sound will confirm correct code entry. The Konami Man and alternate female athletes will be unlocked.

Hint: Hammer throw:
The hammer throw is one of the more inconsistent events in the game. Use your favorite technique to do fast, clockwise circles. Note: Your power here does not necessarily have to be glowing red; orange-red will do. Stop the power meter at the farthest left side of the throwing area as possible. The red ball can be hanging about one third over the line to still constitute a legal throw. Set your angle at either 43 or 45 degrees for the best possible throw. The game will only let you stop on 43, 45 or 48 degrees usually, and 48 is too high. This technique should land 101+ meter throws and set some great records.

Hint: 100 meter dash and 100 meter freestyle swimming:
While button pushing, all you need is consistency. In both events, you need to develop a system that will help you jump "out of the blocks" before the rest of the field. Try counting down 3...2...1...after the word "Set" disappears on the 100 meter dash. In the 100 meter freestyle, use that same system once your swimmer's hands have come to a complete rest on the stand. In each event you should then button press as fast as possible to build a lead, then maintain a very even and moderately fast button pressing system. This allow you to break records consistently. Note: It is possible to get less than 9.45 seconds in the 100 meter dash. The game obviously locks you in at certain times and distances throughout the events.

Hint: Pole vault:
To unlock this event, get a gold medal in the first eight events and at least a silver medal in High Jump and Triple Jump. In the pole vault event, it is impossible to vault 7.00 meters. However you can vault 6.99 meters quite easily. Vault 5.50 on your first attempt, then when successfully cleared, attempt 6.00 meters, which is still an easy vault and puts you in first place. Finally, after you have successfully completed that, attempt 6.99 meters. You should be able to clear it rather easily if you are good. However, at 7.00 meters once you advance, the game will always stop your recovery bar at the same two spots around the stop arrow - a fraction of an inch before or slightly farther after the stop arrow.

Hint: Trap Shooting:
Get a gold in all the events (Including High Jump, Triple Jump, and Vault) to unlock this event.

Hint: 100m Breast Stroke:
Get Bronze medals in all ten default events in Trial mode.

Get Bronze medals in all ten default events in Trial mode.

Hint: High Jump:
Get a medal in all eight events in trial mode to unlock the High Jump. This event is almost identical to the Pole Vault. In this event, anything lower than a 43 degree angle will make your athlete jump with too much forward force, making him hit his head on the bar. Always start your jump before the middle of the jump zone and go for a 45 or 48 degree angle jump. It is fairly easy to get your power to glowing red in this event, so build it up.

Hint: Triple Jump:
Get a medal in all eight events in trial mode to unlock the Triple Jump. This is one of the hardest events in the game. You must be able to tap the buttons with a lot of speed (as in the 100m Dash), have excellent reflexes (as in the Horizontal Bar Gymnastics), and a good eye for a line ( as in the High Jump and Long Jump). Get your power up to the orange-yellow color so you have good jump length. Make sure you tap the button very close to the white line for that extra little amount of length in your jump, and try to get a "Good" rating in the timing meter. If you are lucky, a "Great" might surprise you. However, you should not try to get that rating, because you will most likely foul.

Hint: Weightlifting:
This is an event that requires some patience. You should not try the Clean or Jerk portion until your power is at least halfway inside the "OK" zone. Then, it is just timing. Do not overdo it on the hold for 3 part. If you try to get too fast in your button pressing, you are bound to press the same button twice and make your meter slip. If this happens when your already into the "OK" zone, you might slip out of it when you are still being counted off. The maximum weight may be impossible because the "OK" meter is very small in size, making it impossible to get the bar to lock inside it. Note: It is possible to get 280.0 kg, but it is very difficult.

Hint: Blimp:
Finish the 100 meter dash with a time that has the same number in the last and second to last place.

Hint: Mole:
Finish the long jump with a distance that has the same number in all three places.

Hint: Spaceship:
Complete the javelin throw by running very fast but at a bad angle. If done correctly, your javelin will hit a spaceship.

Character select:
Press Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left at the main menu. Note: This will not unlock Totosai.

Fight as Totosai:
Hold R2 and press Up(2), Down(2), Left(2), Right(2), Up, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right. at the main menu

Fight as Inuyasha (with demon blood risen):
Press Up(2), L1(2), Down(2), R1(2), Up(2), L1(2), Down(2), R1(2) at the main menu. Note: This does not work in Feudal Fairy Tale.

View classic Inuyasha pictures during Supers:
Press Up(2), Down(2), Left(2), Right(2) at the main menu.

Secret message:
Press R1 immediately before the title screen to hear a Japanese message after the title. It varies depending on who says the title.

Full armor, boost, weapons, and 99 lives:

Extreme speed:
Press Select during game play to display the options screen. Then, press Right, Up, Start(2), Up. A sound will confirm correct code entry.

Hint: London: Remove damage:
Drive to the junkyard and find the red car located near the entrance. Race that car around the junk yard to remove the damage from your vehicle. Note: The bus is recommended.

Hint: Turin: Hidden job:
Drive to the roundabout and take the first right. Drive forward to reach the parking lot. Hit all the cones to get a job offer. Follow the on-screen arrows to get the job. Note: The police car is recommended.

Extra teams:
At the team selection team, highlight either team furthest to the right. Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Right to display an additional team.

Different view:
Press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle at the title screen. You will be able to adjust the view from a different angle.

All-Star team:
Highlight the "Exhibition Game" option on the main menu and press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, X. A sound will confirm correct code entry. Hold L1 + R1 and press Circle at the country selection screen to control the Classic All Stars team. Note: For the Japanese version, press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle.

Call out the goalkeeper:
Hold Triangle during game play.

Bonus team:
Highlight the "Exhibition" option at the mode selection screen and press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle. Then, press L2 at the team selection screen

All-Stars team:
Win the Konami Cup to unlock the All-Stars team in exhibition mode.

Masters Cup competition:
Win the J-League under full or half season mode:

World and Japan Dream teams:
Win the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup under any difficulty setting.

Bonus teams:
Win the Masters Cup under any difficulty setting. Man Utd, Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus, AS Roma, Barcelona, and Vasco da Gama will appear on the team selection screen. This also unlocks an option in edit mode that allows the players on those teams to be renamed.

Honda:
Hold R1 + Up + Square + Start on controller two until the title screen appears. The Honda may now be selected under "Free Race" mode.

Castrol:
Hold R1 + Square + Down + Start on controller two until the title screen appears. The Castrol may now be selected under "Free Race" mode.

Advan:
Hold R1 + Triangle + Up + Start on controller two until the title screen appears. The Advan may now be selected under "Free Race" mode.

Class 1 car:
Hold R1 + Circle + Up + Start on controller two until the title screen appears. The Class 1 may now be selected under "Free Race" mode.
