Entering cheat mode:
Press Start to pause the game. Press Triangle,
Square, X, Circle(3) on controller two. The
sound of a piano will confirm correct code entry.
Choose inning:
Enter cheat mode and press X. The phrase "Let's
go to Inning" will appear in the upper left corner. Press
X repeatedly to select the desired inning. Press Start
to resume the game.
CPU vs. CPU:
Enter cheat mode and press L2. Press Start
to resume the game. To resume human control, enter cheat mode
and press L2 again.
Automatic home runs:
Enter cheat mode and press L1. The phrase "home
run" be spoken to confirm correct code entry. Press Start
to resume the game. Any hits will be home runs. To resume normal
batting, enter cheat mode and press L1 again.
Fight as Gaia:
Press Down, Down/Left, Left, Square
(weak slash) at the title screen, as the words slide from
the sides onto the screen. The word "fight" will be
spoken to confirm correct code entry. From the character select
screen, hold Up on Eiji and press any attack button. Gaia
may now be played.
Fight as Sho:
Enter the Gaia code, and allow the game to go into
demonstration mode. Press Start on controller two to return
to the title screen. As the words appear, press Left, Right,
Left, Right, Left + Square (weak slash)
on controller two. The word "fight" will be spoken and
the screen text will turn blue to confirm correct code entry.
From the character select screen, push Down + Square
on Kayin.
Alternate characters:
Press Select after highlighting a fighter on
the character selection screen.
Instant desperation moves:
Choose a controller configuration (such as A4) that
sets all four buttons as special attacks. Whenever your character's
energy gauge is flashing, hitting all four top buttons together
will execute the character's desperation move.
Configure controls under any difficulty:
Enter the instant secret move code and wait for demonstration
mode to start. Press Start to display the title screen.
As the words appear, press Left, Right, Left,
Right, Left + Square (weak slash) on controller
two. The word "fantastic" will be spoken and the screen
text will turn yellow to confirm correct code entry. The control
configuration may now be changed on any difficulty level.
Camera options:
Select a control type (such as A2) that does not use any of the shoulder buttons. A camera option labeled "Your Self" will now be available. Return to the control type selection and choose A5-G5. L1, L2, R1, and R2 will now control the camera angles during game play.
Pause the game. Press X + Triangle + Circle + Square + Select. The options menu will disappear, but the camera angles may still be controlled. Press X + Triangle + Circle + Square + Select again. The power bars and scores will disappear. Press L1, L2, R1, or R2 to scroll and zoom.
Set both controller types to "Camera" and remove the power bars using the previous code. While the game remains paused, hold L2 on controller two until the floor disappears. Then, use controller one to resume game play.
Press Select on controller two to advance frame by frame. Set the controller two type to "Camera" to allow it to change camera angles, while using controller one to zoom.
Controller two can be used to set the camera angle to view the fight from below ground level. The floor will be invisible. This particular camera angle can only be set while the game is paused. Press Start to continue playing using this unique view.
Press X + Triangle + Circle + Square + Select to re-display the options menu; or press Start to play without the energy gauges and scores.
Hint: Fighting Sho:
To fight Sho, the true last boss of the game, finish
the game without using a continue on normal difficulty or harder.
Sho has Kayin's, Eiji's, and additional moves. The game's real
endings will appear after Sho is defeated.
Hint: Fighting Gaia:
When the game is finished on a difficulty below NORMAL,
Gaia must be defeated. If Gaia is beaten, a "desperation"
move will be received. If the game is finished on a difficulty
of normal or harder, and Sho is reached by not using any continues
and beaten, a secret move will be received. Continues may be used
while fighting against Sho.
Hint: Change music:
Pause game play then switch the game CD with an audio
CD of your choice. The new music will be played when the game
is resumed.
Hint: Soundtrack:
Place the game disc in an audio CD player and play
track two and above hear music from the various stages.
Camera control:
Select control type "H2" in the options menu.
Choose "Camera Action" and find the Your Self"
option. Select a control type. L1, L2, R1,
and R2 now control the camera angles. Start a fight and
pause the game. Press Select when changing camera angles
to toggle between rotate/tilt and zoom/pan.
New colors:
Beat the game and display the random select box. Hold
Select slow the cycling characters. Press Weak Punch
or Weak Kick when your character appears to select outfits
with two new color schemes.
Play as Uranus and Master:
Quickly press R1, R2, X, L1,
R2, Circle on controller one while the option text
is sliding across the title screen. A sound will be heard and
the option button will turn blue to confirm correct code entry.
Press Select at the random character select option to slow
the display. The new characters are located after Chaos. In the
Japanese version of the game, substitute the code with L1,
L2, Triangle, R1, R2, Square.
Play as Sho and Vermillion:
Use the code to play as Uranus and Master. Return to
the title screen. Quickly press Circle, R2, L1,
X, L2, R1 on controller two while the option
text is sliding across the title screen. A sound will be heard
and the option button will turn red to confirm correct code entry.
Press Select at the random character select option to slow
the display. The new characters are located after Chaos. In the
Japanese version of the game, substitute the code with Square,
R2, R1, Triangle, L2, L1.
Go to last boss:
Press Up, Down, Up, Down,
Up + Triangle at the title screen.
Remove display:
Pause a fight. Hold Circle + Triangle
+ Square + X and press Select. This removes
the continue, options and reset selections. While continuing to
hold the four buttons, press Select again. This removes
the Life and Over Drive bars. To return the display to normal,
repeat the code while pressing Select once.
Special move buttons on high difficulty:
Enter the option menu from the title screen. Set the
difficulty to level three. Use controller two and set player two's
controls to all "Specials". Use controller one to increase
the difficulty level. Start a one player game using controller
two. The special move buttons may now be used at the chosen difficulty.
If a two player game is played, player two will have the special
buttons available on any difficulty level chosen.
Fight as Uranus and Master:
Press L1(5), R1 at the title screen while
the words are still scrolling. The pointer will turn blue to confirm
correct code entry.
Fight as Vermilion and Sho:
Enable the "Fight as Uranus and Master" code.
Press R1(5), L1 on controller two at the title
screen while the words are still scrolling. The pointer will turn
red to confirm correct code entry.
Toshin Final Technique:
Enable the "Fight as Uranus and Master" and
"Fight as Vermilion and Sho" codes. Press L2(5),
R2 at the title screen while the words are still scrolling.
The pointer will turn green to confirm correct code entry. Enter
the option screen, then set the shoulder buttons to "Fatal
Techniques". Press those two shoulder buttons simultaneously
during a match to execute your character's Toshin Final Technique.
Remove options window and gauges:
Press Start to pause a match. Then, hold Select,
and press Triangle + Square + X + Circle
to remove the options window. Hold Select and press Triangle
+ Square + X + Circle again to remove the
remaining on-screen gauges. Repeat the code again to restore
the display.
Control view:
Set the shoulder buttons to "Not Used" in
the options screen. Then, highlight "Camera Type" and
press Left. A new "Control" option will appear.
Return to any shoulder button configuration and press Right.
That button will now be set to "Camera Control". Enable
the "Remove the options window" code during a match,
then use the shoulder buttons to change the view.
Slow motion:
Enable the "Remove the options window" code
during a match, then hold Select on controller two.
Quick win:
Press Start to pause game play just before hitting
your opponent with a winning blow. Enable the "Slow motion"
code and advance the game until the your opponent is KOed. Leave
the game at the pause screen until the game continues to the victory
announcement. When the next round starts, both fighters will
still be in their winning (and losing) position. Your fighter
will automatically win this round. Repeat this until the entire
