All abilities:
Hold L2 + R1 and press X, Square, R2, L1, Circle, X, Square, Circle, Square at the time selector or level selector screen for the following abilities: Hocus-Pocus (fly after getting a fan), Open Sesame (opens secret doors), Olly-Olly-Oxen Free (super-jump), Magical Tune (Bugs whistles).

Full energy:
Hold L2 + R1 and press X, Square, R2, L1, Circle, X, Square, Circle(2) at the time selector or level selector screen.

Suicide:
Hold L2 + R1 and press X, Square, R2, L1, Circle, X, Circle(3) at the time selector or level selector screen.

Extra key:
Hold L2 + R1 and press X, Square, R2, L1, Circle, X, Circle, Square(2) at the time selector or level selector screen.

View complete ending sequence:
Hold L2 + R1 and press X, Square, R2, L1, Circle, X, Circle, Square, Circle at the time selector or level selector screen.

View incomplete ending sequence:
Hold L2 + R1 and press X, Square, R2, L1, Circle, X, Circle(2), Square at the time selector or level selector screen.

Bonus level:
Successfully complete the game without using any continues to unlock a level against yourself.

Another world mode:
Press L1, Left, Right, L1 at the main menu. A game character will appear in the lower right corner to confirm correct code entry.

Unlimited time:
Hold R1 + R2 + Circle at the title screen. The sound of an engine will confirm correct code entry.

Reversed tracks:
Enter practice mode, then select a track, car, and transmission. Turn around and drive in the opposite direction when the race begins. You will be placed in first place after passing the first check point. The other cars will eventually turn and follow. Three new tracks may be raced by this method.

Hint: Extra points:
Try to hit all of the reddish jumps to get extra points.

Fight as sub-characters:
Complete decisive battle (story) mode and keep both sub-characters alive. The sub-characters may now be used in any other game mode.

Slash mode:
Complete Boss mode without using any continues. An option for "Slash Mode" will appear on the main menu.

Fight as Katze:
Select a Shainto fighter and complete slash mode in under fifteen minutes. Katze will now be unlocked under versus, group battle, and link modes.

Fight as Tsubame:
Select a Narukagami fighter and complete slash mode in under fifteen minutes. Tsubame will now be unlocked under versus, group battle, and link modes.

Chanbarra mode:
Defeat all thirteen Bosses in action (Boss) mode without using any continues. Highlight the "Link Mode" option on the main menu and press Down(2) to access Chanbarra mode.

Hundred slashes mode:
Complete the game with the six regular characters.

Second Shinto ending:
To get the second ending for any Shinto fighter, get to the Main Tatara Shrine. Do not kill the girl. Instead, run in the opposite direction and you will get a different ending.

Alternate ending:
Successfully complete the game without dying or using a continue.

Hint: Colors:

Red: Fatal hit
Orange: Non-fatal hit
White: Weapon struck another weapon or an object
Blue: Attack was successfully defended
Green: Attack was defended, but the defender loses his/her balance

Dance preview:
Complete the game under the easy difficulty level.

Columbo cameo:
Play as Shorty in two player mode. Go all the way through any combo twice, then complete the 0 combo. Columbo should jump out of Shorty's pocket.

Bonus level:
Successfully complete level 1 with Shorty. Then, press Up, Down, Left, Right, Circle.

Alternate costumes:
Highlight a character, then hold Select and press X. Note: In the Japanese version of the game, hold Select and press Circle.

Winning pose close-up:
Hold Circle after winning a stage.
