Hint: Part 1: Chapter 3: Hidden ammunition:
After you find Muerte's room, keep going to the where the bathrooms are located, at the end of the hall. There are two windows covered with dry wall. One of them will crumble if you shoot it. After you destroy the dry wall, you can walk outside of the hotel on a small balcony to another "dry wall window". Destroy that, then jump into the room. You will find a plethora of Molotov Cocktails, grenades, and ammunition.

Hint: Part 1: Chapter 5: Secret:
After the shootout in the laundry, get into the elevator and you will hear music playing. Look up and shoot the speaker. The music will stop and Max will say "Thank you."

Hint: Part 1: Chapter 5: Avoid damage:
When you go on the street and go past the newspapers, you will see a van in the road. Shoot it so that the alarm goes off, then hurry near the stairs that go down to enter the building. Stay above the stairs, and off to the side. Three men will run out. Pick them off as they come up. This can help you avoid damage.

Hint: Part 1: Chapter 6: Secrets:
There are two secrets when you get to the basketball court. Look up in the basket. There is a Beretta stuck in the net. Then, go to the chain link fence next to the street. Wait briefly and an SUV will pass by. Shoot it, the car will screech to a halt, and a man with a shotgun will get out and shoot at you.

Hint: Part 1: Chapter 6: Soldier Of Fortune II room:
After the room where the thug is in the washroom with a lead pipe, jump out the window onto the roof of a building. Walk around on the roof for a bit, shooting at windows. When one of the windows (in the top left corner) you shoot breaks, jump in. There are posters labeled "Soldier of Fortune II" and about three shotguns in this room.

Hint: Part 1: Chapter 6: Secret room:
At the very beginning where the man is whistling while he goes to the bathroom, go outside of the window and immediately turn left. The last window on the side where you came out of has a room with a some shotguns and ammunition.

Hint: Part 2: Chapter1: American flag boxers:
After you enter the lounge with the green neon light you will encounter three men. After you kill them, go to the bathroom. There will be a man with his pants down, wearing American flag boxers.

Hint: Part 2: Chapter 5: Hidden area:
There is a crane about halfway through this level that you have to turn on to get past the big crate. You can get to a secret room by first jumping up to the cab of the crane, then jumping onto the door, then the roof. Jump on the arm of the crane, then run to the end and jump to the crates to your left. There are some grenades and ammunition located here.

Hint: Part 3: Chapter 1: Laser grid:
There is a laser grid at the very beginning of this area. To get past this, simply shoot what the laser comes out of, but stand back because the explosion is big.

Hint: Part 3: Chapter 3:
At the end of the section is a tower that you must shoot off a building. Take out the wires on the pole, then just shoot a grenade at it.

Hint: Part 3: Chapter 4: Secret room:
A secret room can be found on parking level 6. When you are starting to go down to parking level 5 you will see four gray barrels, jump on top of them. Next, jump onto the air vent, then jump to the roof. You should see a sort of a hut up there to your right. Shoot the light colored part of the hut and it should fall down. Go inside and you will fall through a vent in the floor. You can get ammunition and other items.

Hint: Secret tutorial room:
Play the tutorial until you reach the end, where you can practice shooting enemies. Jump up on the big van located there, then over to the ventilation fan on the wall next to the van. From the fan, jump to the stairs and climb them to the top. Break through the window. You will find an Ingram in the room.

Hint: Baby maze:
You will have to go through a maze where you have to find a baby. To get through this maze easily, just stick to right wall. You will end up in your house. After this, you will come to another maze that is not as difficult, but us easy to fall off of.

In-game reset:
Hold Start + Select during game play.

Completion bonuses:
Complete the game under the "Detective" difficulty setting to unlock the Hard Boiled, New York Minute, and Dead Man Walking modes. Complete the game under the "Hard-Boiled" difficulty setting to unlock Dead On Arrival mode.

Mastery mode:
Have a 100% mastery ranking at the end of the game for all levels except those in the Hub.

Hint: Grave Danger: Hidden chest locations:

Chest 1: Directly to the left of the starting point.

Chest 2: Face the gate where you need a gold key to get to the next part of the level. It is directly behind you. Walk up to the tree behind you and press X(2) to do a double jump.

Chest 3: Located atop the platform behind the spot where the three skeletons jump up and where there are two coins in a grave. You must jump on a tombstone that is closest to the platform. It is an iron chest that holds the Flame Tongue sword enchantment.

Chest 4: After you run around the pit of lava, there is a chest on the right side of the tree, if you face it. It is on the opposite side of the chest that holds a red potion.

Chest 5: Located on the left of the two platforms that you must jump across.

Chest 6: Located to the left of the gate with the broken right side. The chest contains an extra life.

Chest 7: Located in the part where there is a ax throwing skeleton. It is in the ground, next to a lone rock.

Hint: Defeating enemies:

Blue Skeletons: Overhead slash works best.
Red Skeletons: Thrust with sword.
Pike-Wielding guards: Throw a shield from afar to remove their armor, then attack up close.
Scimitar Wielding Pirates: Jump over them to momentarily confuse them, then attack from behind.
Yetis: Run in very close and slash. They will not touch you.
Ghosts: Stand still, then hit them as if they were a baseball.

Slow motion:
Begin game play as Max, then hold R2 and press Up(4).

Kurt in boxer shorts:
Hold L2 + R2 and press Square(2), Triangle, Square at the main menu.

Mixed character:
Press Start to pause game play, then hold L2 + R2 and press Up, Down, Right, Left, X, Triangle, Circle, Square, Square + Start to play as a character that is part Kurt, Max, and Doctor Hawkins.

Panning camera view:
Press Start to pause game play, then hold L2 + R2 and press Circle, X, Circle, X.

Crazy camera view:
Press Start to pause game play, then hold L2 + R2 and press X, Circle, X, Circle.

Fixed camera view:
Press Start to pause game play, then hold L2 + R2 and press Circle, X, Circle, Triangle.

Hint: Needle In A Haystack: Stopping tank barrels:
When you get to the first tank, enable the "Unlimited ammunition" code, and the "Invincibility" code if desired. After you kill all the men, go to a side of the tank. When the barrel is facing, you start shooting. You will see smoke and sparks. The barrel will not explode. When you hear ticking, run back and the tank will explode. You can do this to every tank in the level.

Hint: Nijmegen Bridge: Nazi helper:
Go up the ladder that leads to the top of the bridge. There should be two Nazis there; one directly in front of you, and one to the left. The one to the left gets scared and falls off of the bridge. The one in front of you will shake. If you walk up behind him, he will grab his rifle and start sniping the Nazis below him on the bridge. Shoot all other Nazis in the area.

Hint: Nijmegen Bridge: Snagged Nazis:
Proceed with the mission until you come up from under the bridge the first time. Kill the three Nazis waiting for their relief. Keep walking about 10 feet, take out your sniper rifle, and zoom in as much as you can on the upper part of the bridge. You should see some men crouching. If you are lucky, you can see their shots as they are fired, which gives them away easier. Shoot the Nazis and they will fall and get snagged on some wires on the bridge. They will try to get up, fail, and die.

Hint: On Track: Drunk Nazi:
You will find a bar just before the first trains. The first person you should see is a Nazi with a mug walking around the room. Do not shoot him. Shoot the others with guns. After you kill the ones with guns, you can see the drunk Nazi lie down and go to sleep on the floor, using his mug as a pillow.

Hint: Riding Out The Storm: Secret cannon:
Before you enter a room on the train you will see a cannon. The cannon is for you to shoot another train that is shooting you. After you kill the soldiers in the room, go back to where you came in and look to the left. You will see a ladder that leads to a cannon. If you cannot find the cannon, keep looking for it on the left side of the room. Note: There are also machine guns on the train that you can use.

Hint: Yard By Yard: Flush the toilet:
At the beginning of the mission in the first house you enter, go up the stairs to find a bathroom. Press Action here and Jimmy will flush the toilet.

Hint: Your Finest Hour: Fish:
In the first mission, Your Finest Hour, walk along the beach and you will can little silver fish that have washed up on shore.

All missions:
Enter BUTTERFLY at the password screen at the options menu.

Silver bullet mode:
Enter TILEFISH at the password screen at the options menu. Select the "Bonus" option to enable/disable this cheat. Silver bullet mode allows enemies to be killed with one shot.

Rubber grenade mode:
Enter DAMSEL at the password screen at the options menu. Select the "Bonus" option to enable/disable this cheat.

Snipe-O-Rama mode:
Enter PUFFER at the password screen at the options menu. Select the "Bonus" option to enable/disable this cheat. This cheat allows all guns to zoom like a sniper rifle.

All replay items:
Enter GARIBALDI at the password screen at the options menu. Select the "Bonus" option to enable/disable this cheat.

Perfectionist:
Enter HOGFISH at the password screen at the options menu. Select the "Bonus" option to enable/disable this cheat. This cheat allows the Japanese to kill you with one shot.

Men with hats:
Enter SEAHORSE at the password screen at the options menu. Select the "Bonus" option to enable/disable this cheat. Characters will have various objects on their heads.

Invisible soldiers:
Enter TRIGGER at the password screen at the options menu. Select the "Bonus" option to enable/disable this cheat. All that you will see is their guns and helmets.

Medals:
Get a three gold stars rank on a level to receive the corresponding medal. The requirements are as follows. To receive the Navy Cross, get a medal on every mission.

Mission 5: 75% accuracy, less than 50 hits, complete two bonus objectives (Storm Pack Howitzer and Save Lt. Harrison)

Note: This trick requires the entrenching tool from the Search For Yamashita's Gold mission. Once you reach the baseball field, in one of the corners is a pile of dirt. Press X by it and you will unlock the "Bullet Shield" cheat in the bonus menu.

Defeat the first four robot masters in Mega Man 7. Then, complete the robot museum. Save the game, and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters should now appear two doors to the right of Mega Man 8 at the game selection screen.
