Special Zone entrance:
You can almost always have the Special Zone entrance open (the giant ring next to the sign at the end of level Acts 1 and 2) by not losing your rings. If you do lose your rings, when you pass a checkpoint, intentionally die, then continue through the level without losing any rings. This works about 80% of the time.

Level select:
Use the sound test selection on the options menu. Choose sounds 19, 65, 9, and 17 (in that order). A chime will confirm correct code entry. Hold Circle and press Start. Hold Square and press Start when Sonic and Tails appear at the title screen.

Extra continues:
Use the sound test selection on the options menu. Choose sounds 01, 01, 02 and 04 (in that order), then press Start. You will begin the game with fourteen continues.

Tails name changed to Miles:
Press Up(3), Down(3), Up at the title screen. A sound will confirm correct code entry. Tails' name will be changed to "Miles". Note: The opposite will occur in the Japanese version of the game.

Debug mode:
Enable the "Level select" code. Use the sound test selection on the options screen. Choose sounds 1, 9, 9, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4 (in that order). A chime will confirm correct code entry. Select any starting level, then hold Square + Start until game play begins. Screen coordinates will appear instead of a score and the number of objects displayed will appear instead of the time remaining. Use one of the following controller actions to enable the corresponding debug code. Note: This code may only be enabled when playing as Tails alone.

Super Sonic:
Enable the "Level select" code. Use the sound test selection on the options screen. Choose sounds 4, 1, 2, 6 (in that order). Start a stage, collect 50 rings, then jump to transform into Super Sonic.

Mega Sonic:
Collect fifty rings and jump after becoming Hyper Sonic for even more speed and higher jumps.

Unlimited speed shoes:
Begin game play in two player vs. mode and hit as many item boxes as possible until you get the speed shoes. Then, intentionally lose your life while you have them (getting squashed is the easiest way). You will return to the start of the level or the last Star Post that you hit, but you will now have the speed shoes in effect for the rest of the stage.

Super Sonic sign:
Get all of the Chaos Emeralds and transform into Super Sonic. Try to have at least fifty rings when you finish the level. After completing the level, run off screen and wait until the end-of-level sign shows Sonic. When it does, transform into Super Sonic. The sign will show Super Sonic for one second, then show blue Sonic again.

Starry Super Sonic:
Get all the Chaos Emeralds and collect fifty rings, but do not transform into Super Sonic yet. Find an invincibility monitor and spin (do not jump) into it. Then, transform into Super Sonic. If done correctly, the stars will surround Super Sonic until he runs out of rings and transforms back into blue Sonic. Note: This does not improve Super Sonic's performance

Bonus points:
For extra points, pass any zone in a certain amount of time. For the best bonus, enter the "Debug mode" code. The clock will stop and you will always score a 50,000 bonus.

Final Fantasy Anthology Cheat Codes

Wing Fortress shortcut:
In Wing Fortress, move with some rings as far to the right as possible without climbing. When blades appear to block your way, hit them. As soon as you are invincible, walk through them. Jump on the platforms to the right and half the level will be completed.

Level select:
Quickly press Up(2), Down(2), Up(4), after the Sega logo fades and Sonic starts to appear, and before the screen flashes white. A chime will confirm correct code entry. Press Up at the title screen to access level select and sound test options.

Debug mode:
Enable the "Level Select" code. Hold Square, then press Start when selecting the desired level.

Secret level:
Enable the "Level Select" code and select the sound test option. Play sounds 1, 3, 5, 7 (in order). Highlight "Special Stage 2", then hold Square and press Start.

Extra lives:
Set off the first alarm on the first level of the Launch Base Zone. Wait in the middle of the alarm and perform Spin-Dash attacks on the Flybots. The value of the Flybots will eventually increase to 10,000 points as they continue to attack. Accumulate points and lives at this location.

Bonus characters:
Successfully complete the Hero storyline to unlock Shadow The Hedgehog, Rouge The Bat, and Cream The Rabbit.

Bonus vehicles and gear:
Successfully complete the Hero storyline to unlock Shadow's Darkness jet shoes, Rouge's Temptation board, and Cream's Smile board.

Bonus missions:
Successfully complete the Hero storyline to unlock Storm's missions.

Bonus music:
Complete the indicated part to unlock the corresponding music track in the "Audio Room" menu.

Catch Me If You Can: Complete the Babylon storyline.
Theme of Babylon Garden: Complete Hero storyline.
Theme of Digital Dimension: Complete Babylon storyline.
Theme of Sega Carnival: Unlock the Sega Carnival track.

Random character selection:
Press R1 at the character selection screen.

Hint: World Grand Prix: Easy rings:

Bronze Emblem (30 to 39 points): 300 rings
Silver Emblem (40 to 49 points): 400 rings
Gold Emblem (50 points): 500 rings

Hint: Theater movies:
Complete the indicated story to unlock the corresponding movie in the "Theater" option.

Movie 1: Complete Hero Story
Movie 2: Complete Babylon Story
Movie 3: Complete Final Story

Alternate introduction screen:
Successfully complete all Weapon Master missions.

Taunt:
Select arcade mode. After you choose your character; press X while the stage loads to hear your character taunt the second player.

Slow motion replay:
Hold X + Triangle + Down just before a replay begins.

Slow motion replay with camera control:
Press R1 during a replay and control the camera by pressing the Left Analog-stick.

Default name entry:
Complete the game in arcade mode and enter the same character (such as "A") in all positions in your name. The entry will change to the default name of the character used.

Extra arcade mode:
Successfully complete arcade mode as any character.

Extra vs. mode:
Successfully complete extra arcade mode as any character.

Extra survival mode:
Successfully complete survival mode with at least ten wins.

Extra practice mode:
Successfully complete weapon master mode as any character.

Extra vs. team battle mode:

Arcade version opening:
Play the game in extra time attack mode under the extreme difficulty setting four times.

Home version opening:
Play the game in extra survival mode with the no recovery setting four times.

Demo theater and character bios:
Successfully complete arcade mode or extra arcade mode with any character.

Hint: Easy money:
After successfully completing chapter 1, return to the training area (the first mission) and complete training again. Almost every time, you will get between 300 to 500 experience points, and between 300 and 600 gold.

Hint: Taki: Hidden moves:
Use Soul Charge. Once in Soul Charge, there are at least two moves that are not on your command list. The first one is Down, Circle. Taki will move her hands around until she finally does a palm strike. The second one is Down/Back + K You will jump back, then press Triangle.

Hint: Voldo: Combos:

Press Away + L2, Away + L2, Away + L2.
Press Down + R2, Away(3).
Press Down + R2, Down + B(3) or Down + A(3). Do not do this near a ledge.

Hint: Rival selection:
When you start a new game in weapon master mode, whoever you choose for the first battle will affect who your rival will be for the rest of the game. If your rival is male, then his name will be Leon. If they are female, their name will be Minerva. Below is a chart of characters and their rivals.
