Hint: Stop Act A Fool:

When your opponent or CPI does an Act A Fool move, tap A exactly it starts. If done correctly, you will stop the Act A Fool move and take possession of the ball.

Cheat mode:

Enter one of the following codes at the vs. screen where there are three basketballs before a game begins to activate the corresponding cheat function. The first number represents how many times X is pressed. The second number represents how many times B is pressed. The third number represents how many times Y is pressed. End the code by pressing the D-pad in any direction. For example, press X, B(2), Y(3) and any D-pad direction to activate code 1 2 3. A message will confirm correct code entry. Note: The codes must be entered quickly and most will not work online. Also, the "Alternate Gear" code will only work after you have unlocked the alternate gear for the player you have selected. Finally, some codes require agreement from both players.

Legends tournament bonuses:
Win the Legends tournament to get 1 million Jam points and unlock the 70's announcer voice.

Hint: Michael Jordan:
Although Michael Jordan is not in the game by default, you can create him and the announcer will say his name whenever he does something.

Hint: Iverson's armband:
To get the effect of Iverson's arm band, select all arm bands in create a player mode. It will look like Iverson's arm band/sleeve.

Play as Busta Rhymes:

Enter the create-a-player screen and enter FLIPMODE as a last name. A message will confirm correct code entry. Busta Rhymes will appear in the free agent pool. Select the "Sign/Release Player" option to get him on your team.

Play as B-Rich:

Enter the create-a-player screen and enter DOLLABILLS as a last name. A message will confirm correct code entry. B-Rich will appear in the free agent pool. Select the "Sign/Release Player" option to get him on your team.

Hint: Easy freethrows:

Pause game play, then change the controller setting to the CPU. Resume game and after the CPU has shot the freethrow, pause game play again and change the controller setting back to its original value.

Hint: Easy ball possession:
Play a game with all penalties off. As the CPU has the ball out of bounds, quickly press Start, and turn "Out Of Bounds" on. Press Start again to resume. The CPU will be called out of bounds, and you will get the ball. Note: This trick only works if you turn out of bounds on when the CPU is out of bounds, with the ball in hand.

Hint: Slower speed:
Change the game type to "Arcade" and select the desired rules for the game. It has a much slower game speed and easier control.
