Cheat mode:
Hold [Left Ctrl] and type one of the following codes at the main menu to activate the corresponding cheat functions. Note: This can only be done with v1.3 through v1.9.7 of the game.

Cheat mode (alternate):
Press ~ during game play to display the console window. Then, enter one of the following case-sensitive codes to activate the corresponding cheat function.

Bubble gun:
Start a game and do not shoot for about two minutes while not getting damaged by the aliens.

Rainbow gun:
Have your first shot kill an alien with one hit. Walk directly to its body and wait at that location. Allow the other aliens to almost kill you to get the gun. Note: This only works in earlier versions of the game.

Completion bonuses:
Successfully complete the game under the normal difficulty setting to unlock the hardcore difficulty setting and Typ 'o' Shooter mode.

Holiday message:
Set the system date to December 25. When the game starts, a "Happy Holiday" message will appear with snow. Click on the snow or message to return to normal.

Alien Zoo Keeper mini-game:
Watch the credits and click all lines that have the letter "O". A sound will confirm each correct click. When the name list ends, wait and another list will begin. Once again, click the lines that have the letter "O". The word "Secrets" will appear. Click it to play the Alien Zoo Keeper mini game.

Hint: Seven way Plasma Gun:
This trick allows you to use a "7-way Plasma Gun" and is useful in survival mode. Acquire the Pulse Gun (that shoots little green waves). Get these Perks: Angry Reloader, Fastloader, and Stationary Reloader. Do not get the Perk Alternate Weapon, as this will mess things up. After getting the gun and Perks, hold [Reload]. Seven-way constant shots should start spewing from your weapon. Note: Do not get the Perk Alternate Weapon. Remain still if you have Stationary Reloader and the shots will fire faster. Try this with the "Weapon Power-up". Barrel Greaser and Fastshot will make the shots go faster, but not more frequently.

Level select:
Highlight the microphone on the left side of the main menu in the campaign. Press the Right Mouse Button, then type idaho. A new drop down menu that allows any level to be selected will appear at the top right of the screen.

All gallery pictures:
Select the "Previous Missions" option at the campaign mode main menu. Click the "Rogue Pilots & Co." symbol on the bottom left of the screen, then type ispy.

Cheat mode:
Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "critpath.ini" file in the game directory. Edit the number after the "Gates=" line to change levels. Edit the numbers after the "G1=" and "G2=" lines to change the number of lives.

Unlimited energy:
Press [F6] during game play.

Level skip:
Press [F8] during game play.

No enemies:
Press [F9] during game play.

Note: L indicates [Left], R indicates [Right], U indicates [Up], and D indicates [Down].

Hint: And So The Adventure Begins: Extra lives:
When you run low on lives, return to the first level (And So The Adventure Begins). When you start, go to where the bee is located and jump to the floating platform furthest from the well with the Gobbo on top. Keep on Stomping (or double-jumping) on it until it will not let you jump any more. The game will proceed to a secret level with no monsters. Exit by going to the stars on the ground, and then finish level 1.

Hint: Hassle In The Castle: Bonus area:
When you start, go past the Dantini, up the stairs past the two cracked pads and look at the right upper corner. Then, face to the left slightly. Get a running start and jump off the edge as far out as you can. You will hopefully land on a bonus platform.
