Custom Muscle car:
Win Pursuit 6.

Custom Pickup truck:

Classic 1970 car:
Win Pursuit 2 by destroying the classic 1970 car with the police car. This car has average to bad stats, but it can get past a police car very quickly in Pursuit mode and in races.

Oval Racer:
Race Face-Off 2 against the Oval Racer. The race is five laps around Airport Terminal 3 (one of the first races). If you manage to defeat it, you will unlock it. This car has great acceleration, maximum control, and maximum top speed.

Police car:
Win Pursuit 1 by destroying the criminal's car before it gets away. The police car has maximum top speed, average control, and good acceleration.

Gangster car:
Win Pursuit 3.

Hot Rod car:
Win Face Off 1.

Stock car:
Win Face Off 2.

Japanese Muscle car:
Win Face Off 3.

Two player pursuit mode:
Successfully complete Pursuit 3.

Hint: Powerful boosts in Crash Zones:
This trick works in one player and two player modes. When you are doing the Crash Zones, at the start immediately hold R for a boost. After a few seconds, press it again. This should give you more boost, which results in a faster speed

Hint: Better slides:
When doing the tire burn, once you go around the turn and have a boost, press R. You will speed up and take the turn very fast. Also, if you get a perfect lap you will automatically get a boost.

Need For Speed Underground

Complete all Crash Mode levels with a "Gold" rank. Then, hold White + Black while choosing a car at the vehicle selection screen. The civilian cars in traffic will be replaced by those found in Need For Speed Underground. Note: Some vehicles, for example the bus, will not be changed. However, there are Need For Speed Underground taxis.

Hint: Easy money in Crash mode:
When you get to the main menu, go to "Single Event" and "Crash Mode". Select "Junction 19", "Tuk Down", and "Muscle type 1" as your car. Boost start at the beginning. Drift and collect either the gold or silver (it is possible to collect both of them). Smash through the boxes avoiding the wall, into the boost and up evenly on the jump, avoiding the heart-breaker to your right. Collect the x2 multiplier and after touch, making sure you try to land evenly without hitting any boxes. Slide into the Crashbreaker, and get to the x4 multiplier past the buses in aftertouch. If you get knocked out of the way by the buses, wait until you stop and press Crashbreaker. Aim in the direction of the x4 multiplier. If you miss, you always have the x2 as a fail safe. It is possible to get $1,500,000 to $1,750,000. Repeat this, and do not select "Retry"; as all the money adds up to the total score.

Hint: Quick start:
Hold the gas while tapping the brakes to get your tires smoking. When the countdown is between "1" and "Go", release the gas, then press it again.

Hint: Easy turbo:

Look for lightning tokens to fully fill up your turbo.

Drive on the wrong side of the road, but do not crash.

Get very close to a car and do not touch it for a near miss.

Destroy other opponents to extend your turbo and fill it up.

Hint: Move after you have stopped in crash mode:
After you have peofrmed your crash, save the Crashbreaker and look around to see if there are items or more cars you can hit. Use the Crashbreaker, and guide yourself with R and the D-pad to where ever you want to go. This can move you pretty far, and can get you over trailers and big trucks.
