Sound test:
Hold Select and alternately tap Left, Right repeatedly until "Sound 01" appears.

Area 0, 30 continues:
Enable the "Sound test" code. Press I, II, Select twenty two times. Then, hold Select + Run until gameplay begins.

Debug mode:
Enable the "Sound test" code. Press I, II then tap Select repeatedly until the debug screen appears. The following debug functions may now be enabled.

Level select
Enter 00 - 09 as a debug number.

Invincibility
Enter 77 as a debug number, then press Up, Down before exiting the debug screen.

Half game with many satellites
Enter 83 as a debug number.

Extra lives, bombs, and power
Enter the debug number for the desired level. Hold I + II and press Start to begin game play with 10 lives and 10 bombs. Additionally, you will continue from the previous location instead of the previous checkpoint after losing a life.

Level select:
Press II, I, I, II, I, II, II,I at the title screen. Then, use the D-pad to select one of the following levels.

Altered Beast Cheat Codes

Sound test:
Press Up, then hold I + II + Select at the title screen.

Fast mode:
Press Up, Down, Right, Right, I, I, II, Select, Run at the title screen. The number "2" will appear to confirm correct code entry.

Hover mode:
Press Down, Up, Left, Left, II, II, I, Select, Run at the title screen. The number "3" will appear to confirm correct code entry. Press Jump during game play to hover.

Extra ammunition:
Use the following steps to obtain extra ammunition and weapons.

50 shotgun rounds
Climb a fence after your strength is at "2". Press Right + I + II.

50 bazooka rounds
Climb a fence after your strength is at "2". Press Left + I+ II.

10 flash bombs
Climb a barricade when your strength is at "1". Press Up + Right + Run + II.

10 super grenades
Climb a barricade when your strength is at "1". Press Down + Left + Run + II.

50 flame thrower charges
Hold Up + I + II and press Run when parachuting at the start of levels 2 or 5.

Cheat mode:
Obtain a score of 300 points as a high score. Wait until the title screen begins to appear after the first demonstration sequence. At the point where the clouds appear before the title screen, hold Down + Select + I + II. Keep the buttons held and press Run when the menu appears. A level and power-up select menu will appear.
